DESCRIPTION: Spray Texture is a
decorative concrete system consisting of preblended
cement, aggregate and
admixtures. The product can be toweled or sprayed horizontally or
vertically onto
existing concrete, cement board, concrete blocks or bricks. Spray
Texture
can be integrally
tinted by using a pre-measured pigment pack and/or stained with a
Chemical Stain to create a variety of colors and patterns.
SURFACE
PREPARATION: All
surfaces shall be clean and free of dirt, dust, paint,
sealers,
form release, curing agents, grease, oil or any thing that would
inhibit mixed
material from coming into contact with the open
pores of the substrate. Any anti-adherent
must be removed
mechanically. Pressure washing, sand blasting, water blasting, grinding
and
shot blasting are a few good methods for removal. On existing surfaces
not burdened
with these anti-adherents, pressure washing
coupled with mild acid etching should be
considered, depending
on the contaminants to be removed, especially on smooth, steel
troweled
or formed concrete. After these procedures have been done, apply Primer at a rate of 150-200 sq.ft. per gallon
depending on the porosity of the concrete. Blow or broom off
any puddle primer before the application of the cementitious material.
Allow the primer to dry completely before application of the spray
texture. The primer will re-emulsify one time only, and will
not re-wet again, providing a tenacious bond of the Spray
Texture to the surface in which it is applied.
MIXING
AND APPPLICATION:
During
the mixing procedures, depending on jobsite conditions, use 4.5-6
quarts of liquid
to each 50lb. bag of spray texture. The
liquid mixture consist of the primer (same as
bonding material
as stated above) and potable water. The mixing proportions are as
follows:
Equal parts of potable water and primer. Note: Always add the Spray
Texture to
the liquid solution, never the water/ primer
solution to the Spray Texture. Mix material
until a lump free
consistency is achieved. Spray Texture can be applied by trowel,
squeegee,
gauge rake, and also a hopper gun. The material can also be tinted
various
colors to achieve special effects.
PRECAUTIONS:
Apply
Spray Texture in ambient temperatures between 50F – 85F,
normally
in the cool of the day. Allow between 4-7 days before vehicular traffic
is
allowed on the surface. The structural integrity of the
product is only as good as the
surface in which it is applied.
A field test mock-up is highly suggested so as to obtain an
approved
sample from your prospective client.
WARNING:
Contains Portland cement; avoid eye contact or prolonged contact with
skin.
Wash thoroughly after handling. In cast of eye contact, flush with
water for 15
minutes, consult a physician immediately. Keep
out of reach of children. Contains free
silica – DO
NOT breathe dust. May cause delayed lung injury. Follow OSHA safety and
health
standards for crystalline silica (quartz).
COVERAGE:
50
lb. Spray Texture will cover approx.:

THINK GREEN. We use
recycled concrete in lieu of gravel as aggregate in our
concrete. It doesn't cost us any extra; thus, it doesn't cost
you any extra. As far as structure, the recycled concrete is
just as strong as the gravel. We do what we can to save the
limited resources we have on earth.
